Alia Bhatt Adopts Husband’s Surname
Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has made headlines after officially adopting the surname of her husband Ranbir Kapoor, two years after they tied the knot. In a recent Netflix promo for an upcoming episode of “The Great Indian Kapil Show,” fans were surprised when Alia Bhatt was addressed as Alia Bhatt Kapoor by Sunil Grover. The actress quickly acknowledged the new name, marking the first instance where she publicly used the surname Kapoor. The couple, who got married in April 2022, welcomed their daughter, Raha Kapoor, just a few months later.
Accompanied by her mother-in-law Neetu Kapoor, Alia Bhatt appeared on the Kapil Sharma-hosted show to promote her upcoming film Jigra, co-starring Vedang Raina. Bhatt and Kapoor had previously shared the screen in Brahmastra: Part 1 – Shiva and will collaborate again in the highly-anticipated Love and War, a Sanjay Leela Bhansali directional. The release of the film, initially set for Christmas 2025, has now been postponed to March 20, 2026. Meanwhile, fans are eagerly awaiting Jigra, which is set to hit theatres on October 11.
